Another Dead Computer
Susan's computer died this evening. One of the dogs knocked the power cord loose, and when she restarted it, it wouldn't boot -- would not anything, actually. The lights come on, all the cooling fans run, but the drives don't spin and the monitor doesn't come to life.
I suspect something on the motherboard got zapped. I'm going to let it sit for awhile and then see what I can do with it tomorow. In the meantime, she is stuck with her old laptop which doesn't make her very happy.

sounds like a short circuit to me as in the power cord got wiggled around some and yanked the power supply inside of the computer.

Water can damage an LCD screen, so you should not apply water directly to it.
